He had been waiting for it since he strolled through the doors and last night, BB finally delivered Corey his mission.
Corey and his chaperone Terri perched on the Diary Room chair as BB filled Corey in on his plans for the teenager.
“Corey, on the same night you entered the House, Big Brother’s party was gatecrashed by the three most popular online auditionees. Barney, Nathan and Michael.
“Corey, the house is too crowded. Australia voted three in… now YOU must send two out.”
Corey instantly looked unimpressed but BB wasn’t finished yet.
“Tomorrow morning at sunrise Big Brother will call all Housemates to the garden,” he said. “It is then and there that you will decide and announce which two go... and which one stays. Do you understand and accept your mission?”
Corey bluntly told Big Brother that he understood the mission – but accepting it was another matter. He refused to send two Housemates packing. Corey explained to BB that he didn’t want to hurt any of the Housemates and wasn’t capable of backstabbing anyone.
After much discussion, Big Brother put an end to Corey’s struggle. He offered Terri the abandoned mission – and in return for her acceptance, she would become a fully-fledged Housemate.
Corey was furious. He told BB that he was unimpressed with Terri’s efforts so far to chaperone him properly. “She hasn’t even tried to put me to bed!” he complained, adding that he hadn’t eaten fruit all day either. The duo immediately began sparring over the new twist of events. Corey was disgusted with Terri’s quick response to BB – she would take on the mission and execute it swiftly.
He challenged Terri as to why she would agree to kick two people out. Terri argued back that she wanted to be a Housemate and Big Brother was a game that she was willing to play. She tried to explain that she had already been unceremoniously shown the door – and that she believed anyone else would do the same thing in her circumstances.
But Corey wasn’t convinced – and was very unimpressed. After heated debate, the two finally left the Diary Room and Big Brother’s voice boomed out across the House. BB explained to the Housemates – and Barney, Nathan and Michael – that Corey had declined his mission and Terri would pick it up in his place. He explained that by dawn, Terri would decide which of the three web-selected Housemates would say goodbye to the House, and which one would stay.
Big Brother encouraged the Housemates to share their thoughts and opinions with Terri to help her make a decision – but reminded them that she would have the final say.
As he finished talking, an angry Corey sat fuming as he watched Terri explain she didn’t know she had to choose from just three of them. “You’re a liar!” Corey shouted and upset, he walked outside away from her.
Nobbi, who had been stuck outside during the announcement, immediately went to comfort his new friend. “She knew who the [people were] all along,” vented Corey.
Inside, Barney and Nathan sat close to Terri while Michael joked to the upset Grandma, “I’ll tell you what, I’ll send a lot of votes to vote you out when the time comes.” He told the HMs he was unfazed by the news.
Someone who wasn’t unfazed however, was Nobbi. Hearing the news that Terri could become a Housemate was too much for Kombi Man. “She tells shit stories and she lies!” he shouted. Trying to calm himself, he struck up a game of Frisbee with David and a clearly calm Michael. “I feel sorry for Barney and Nate man,” he said. But Michael was relaxed and admitted all that worried him was the news the Snap Eviction would come at dawn and he would have to wake up early!
But the situation grated on Nobbi too much, who soon decided to confront Terri. He asked her why she was so quick to accept the mission. “Who said I accepted it just like that?” asked Terri. “Why would Corey lie?” yelled Nobbi. “Maybe I misunderstood,” attempted Terri, trying to explain she thought she had to choose from all the Housemates. But Nobbi wasn’t buying it. “Lucky for me it’s not all the HMs or I would be gone,” he vented to Bianca as he walked outside.
The Italian Princess, who has shared a close relationship with Terri, confessed she too felt lucky and agreed Terri wasn’t being honest. “We were all sitting there going, ‘Is she a bullshitter, or what?” she whispered.
Inside, Terri was flanked by a nervous looking Barney, who was biting his fingernails, and a smiling Nathan. Michael sauntered in and caught her babbling about her decision. “You’re freaking Terri, chill!” he reassured her. But no one was calming down.
Corey was still in the spa where he had been joined by David, Rory, Renee and Nobbi. The group tried to settle an upset Nobbi down. Travis tried to play mediator and drew Nobbi aside. He attempted to explain Terri’s perspective – and how desperate she was to be a Housemate. “It’s a huge decision for her to make,” he said gently. Nobbi asked what Terri was trying to prove. “That’s she’s bitter?” he offered scathingly. But the chat seemed to take the edge off and the duo closed off with a quick man hug.
Meanwhile, Terri had made her to the dining table with Bianca, Alice and Rebecca. Bianca told Terri what she would do. She advised Terri to ask everyone’s opinions. “What about you Alice?” said Terri. “I don’t know, I need to think, and I need to think for the House,” said Alice. “Barney said he wanted this for years, that’s a killer,” moaned Terri. “Personally, I would say Nathan to say, because I have bonded with him the most,” admitted Rebecca.
Dixie and Brigitte joined the girls, as did Saxon. “I reckon we should be grateful it’s not them three voting out three of us,” said the Space Cadet. Brigitte offered Nathan as her choice of HM to stay as she liked him best.“It’s got nothing to do with like,” retorted Terri. “It’s got to do with how they fit in in the House.”
