Everyone was a winner as the HMs held Mr Big Brother – plus Lil Sis explains why she is a paid-up member of the Corey Fan Club.

Last night was one of those nights I kinda wished I was in the House. The HMs took it upon themselves to organize “Mr Big Brother” – an event I personally feel should have been held every year to date. Shirtless fellas proving their masculinity – thank you very much.

Alice played host, while the boys strutted their stuff to try and impress the voting panel of ladies. After saying she didn’t like Brigitte because she was “fake”, Rebecca donned a skimpy waitress outfit and took it upon herself to teach Nathan how to work the catwalk. She and Brigitte bonded up to act as “trophy girls”, much to the approval of all the red-blooded males in the House.

BB was nice enough to whip up a sensational Mr Big Brother sash in baby blue and a trophy of a rather dashing fella, along with daffodils for the unlucky non-winners. But hey – we were all winners on the night, as we watched the blokes vie for attention and the glory of being Mr Big Brother.

Rory – “I lay bricks and romance the chicks” – failed to win the hearts of the girls, and they later giggled at the fact he thought he would surely win. No doubt, this came as a massive blow to the dreadlocked wonder, who prides himself on his ability to woo the sheilas. Big Brother delivered what may well be the line of the season, when he jokingly deadpanned, “Rory, it is obviously very chilly tonight,” as Rory pranced about in a red g-string. Not quite the reaction he was after.

The “Swimwear” and “Special Talents” section was perhaps my favourite and my heart was won when Ben demonstrated his breakdancing… erhm… skills. But after heated debate and a tussle back and forth between the girls while the menfolk waited in nervous anticipation in “lockdown”, the girls decided that newcomer Nathan would be crowned Mr BB. He did a little strut and waved his trophy around while runner-up Ben acted very honourably and congratulated his rival. (*Cough* He was robbed! *Cough*)

Now… is it just me, or do we have somewhat of a savvy coincidence on our hands when it comes to Nate? Renee revealed the other day that she had a bit of a crush on the SA boy, and followed it up by telling HMs she had a penchant for bald men. No sooner had she uttered the words than Nathan had whipped out a fresh razor and shaving cream and was ensuring his already close-cropped noggin was as smooth and shiny as a baby’s bottom. Subtle? I think not. Still, I have a feeling it may have scored him a few of Renee’s votes in the Mr Big Brother rounds.

Speaking of nothing related to my next topic, I would like to confess – well, declare really, that I am now officially a paid-up member of Team Corey. For all those sledgers out there, he has proven to be well-mannered, witty and helpful – albeit a little feisty. But do you know what I have noticed? Corey only flares up when he feels that something unkind has happened. Whether that’s in relation to himself or others… he really only seems to get his back up when he thinks an injustice has occurred. And behind those defiant words and teen-angst attitude are good intentions.

He didn’t think twice before telling BB he didn’t want to take his hair straightener, when given the choice between that and drinks and choccies for the group. (And trust me, he adores that hair straightener). And he was up at 4am the other night perfecting his bread making skills, so the group could have some tasty treats when they woke up. Even in his argument with Terri over the mission – he was upset because he felt Terri was lying. And during his confrontation with Bianca, he was calm and willing to let her share her feelings – even telling the boys to go away so they could finish their talk. (Not that Bianca let him get much of a word in!) But he maintained eye contact throughout and when given the chance to bitch about her and the chat later, he dismissed the boys’ egging on with a simple, “We were just having a chat.”

While Bianca may have written him off by saying, amongst other things, “He palmed off a really hard job, which shows he has no courage,” I beg to differ. Corey didn’t agree to Big Brother’s mission because he genuinely didn’t want to upset the other HMs. There was little said about his own feelings towards the task – it was all a matter of not wanting to hurt other people. Courageous? Or weak? You be the judge of that.

Bottom line? He’s a teenage boy – and once he works out how to perhaps express himself a little more articulately and calmly, he will be a force to be reckoned with. He has managed to walk into that lion’s den and win over a group of people who all have pretty intense and opinionated personalities… and even inject a bit of fun in the House. His pranks and cheekiness is indicative of his age – and I’ll add one other thing, anyone commenting on his skin should have a good hard look at themselves and think back to when they were a teenager. Comments like that are just petty and irrelevant.

That’s my opinion anyway – and the great thing about BB is that everyone can have differing ones. Makes things more interesting. About 52% of you have voted in our poll that your feelings towards Corey have changed… I’m curious as to why – and why they haven’t, if that’s the case. Let me know, would love to hear your thoughts.

Phew – what a week!

Bring on Eviction Day Sunday… I can’t even begin to predict who may be leaving the House because the HMs’ feelings towards each other seem to change at any given moment. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see…

‘Til then,
Lil Sis x
