First up, Corey and Terri’s teams channeled M&Ms and Fifty Cent pieces. Dressed in their costumes, the Housemates busted a few hip-hop moves as they circled their prize – the microphones in the middle of the ring.
“You must dance with enthusiasm or you will be eliminated,” warned Big Brother. “The first person to win takes their whole team through to the next round. The aim is to grab a microphone when the music stops. There will be less microphones when the music stops.
“When you get the microphone, hold it in the air like you just don’t care. Wait until BB instructs you then move to the red zone. You will be through to the next round. Prepare to dance.”
The Housemates danced round the outside of the ring, and as soon as the music came to a halt, sprinted into the centre of the circle to grab a microphone. Team captains Terri and Corey were the first to be sent to the losers bench. As the number dwindled, it was three-to-one, in favour of Terri’s team. With Ben the only one left to represent for team Fifty Cent, Nobbi and Rory tried to edge him out of a microphone, but didn’t have the right moves.
With the final round down to Nobbi and Ben, it took some smooth groovin’ to see Nobbi – the HMs’ first FNL champion – named winner, taking his team through to the next round.
Next up was Big Booty Camp – and Terri’s team was split in two, with Rory and Nathan named the new captains. Each team dressed in the bootylicious outfit of glittery silver or gold pants – complete with fully rounded posterior.
“The next round is an obstacle course,” instructed Big Brother. “You cannot go through to the next round until each Housemate is through each obstacle. The team with the fastest time is through the round.
“You will shake your junk in your trunk first. Push your toosh through the tunnel before hip-hopping your way through to the finish line. Just like Beyonce and Jay-Z, you will be joined at the hip.”
As the Housemates waited for the next game to start, all conversation was on BB’s ultimate prize – Head of the Household. On the loser bench, so no longer eligible for the position, Dixie talked about what was at stake. “What a prize,” she breathed. “I hope it’s every week.”
After completing the Big Booty Camp obstacle course in 1:39 seconds, Nathan’s team caught their breath, only to watch Rory’s team beat their time by 16 seconds. Rory, Terri, Alice and Travis were through to the next round.
Nathan’s team, aka the losing team, were given a special bonus round by BB in to fight their way back into the running for second FNL champion, and Head of the Household. Nathan, Renee, Bianca and Nobbi took to the stage for BB’s second-chance challenge.
“The next round is Bust a Rhyme,” announced Big Brother. “BB will give you the first line of a made-up rap. BB will be the judge of who is the two quickest homies.”
Ready and raring for the first round, Nobbi misses his cue entirely. Renee is next up and has makes a feeble attempt. Bianca and Nathan finish up the first round. For the second round, and with a heap more confidence, Nobbi’s rap earns a huge cheer from the Housemates. Bianca and Nathan are totally on their game, and BB awards them as the game’s “great homies.”
“You have rapped your way back into tonight’s Games,” confirms BB, much to Bianca and Nobbi’s delight.
The third round was BB’s Hip Hop Bunnies. Complete in fluffy bunny costume, the Housemates were challenged with collecting the most “carrot juice” from a shower in the middle of the rotating record.
“Hip hop Bunnies,” announced Big Brother. “You will step onto the spinning record and with the most carrot juice after 2.5 minutes will go through to the next round. Prepare to race.”
Rory, Alice and Bianca were first to take to the rotating disc. Walking backwards on the rotating disc, Rory fell into the groove straightaway, after a few initial slip ups. With Rory hogging the height advantage, Alice wriggled on her knees to catch the carrot juice run over.
But Nathan, Travis and Terri dominated the disc, and Rory, Alice and Bianca were sent to the losers bench.
Faced with the final round, and well aware of what was at stake, all attention focused on the remaining three Housemates, Terri, Travis and Nathan.
“The final round requires only two Housemates,” announced Big Brother. “You must decide amongst yourselves, who to eliminate from tonight’s final round.”
The Housemates tittered amongst themselves, their minds turning straight away to the bigger picture, of who could potentially become Head of the Household. Travis and Nathan were put forward by the Housemates, with Terri left on the losers bench.
“Sorry Terri, you did awesome,” consoled Renee.
Big Brother announced the final round of FNL was a basketball shoot out.
“I’m a basketballer at heart,” said Travis, amping himself up for the task ahead.
“You are competing at the same time,” explained Big Brother. “The team with the most balls in the hood in the will be the winner of the Friday Night Games. Remember what you’re playing for. Remember what is at stake. Nathan, Travis. Start on the buzzer.”
Nathan and Travis began lobbing balls into the hood of the car.
“Lower Travis!” coached Terri from the sidelines.
As the buzzer sounded, Ninja’s totalled up the balls under the hood.
Travis scored three – and Nathan was soon declared winner, with 11 balls!
“Housemates, celebrate your champion,” announced Big Brother, and Nathan was swarmed with high-fives and congratulations from his HMs – all aware of the prize Nathan had just earned.
“Peace out Big Brother,” yelled Alice, as the HMs headed back to the House.
Who did Nathan choose to accompany him to the Strategy Room? Or did it all turn out not how Mr Big Brother expected?
