Cherry described himself as a ‘ladies man’ before entering the House and he had his sights firmly set on BB’s Paris Wannabe. “Brigitte’s pretty hot… she’s pretty cute,” he revealed in his intruder alert video. But how is his plan to win over the ladies going?
The boys have noticed Cherry’s crush on Bridge and have become somewhat defensive. Nobbi approached the subject with him. “Are you working on Brigitte by the way?” he asked Cherry. “Brigitte seems pretty keen on you,” Rory chimed in. Cherry tried to play it cool. “I’m just cruising, chicks are chicks,” he breezed. “Just don’t give them too much attention just do what you want. This was not the answer the boys were looking for. Nobbi played up being defensive over who he described as “his girl”, but then told Cherry to do what he wanted. Not too sure about the situation Cherry smiled nervously.
In a debrief from the conversation Nobbi, Ben and Rory were quite defensive and seemed to have taken a specific dislike to the Sexy Surfer. “He’s very cocky,” Nobbi announced, bragging that he was going to drill Cherry. Ben called him arrogant. “I don’t particularly like him either,” he admitted. The boys planned to stir things up with Cherry and they hatched a plan to make him like Brigitte then get her to shut him down.
The blokes went to Brigitte with their proposal. What did Brigitte think of Cherry? “I don't feel he adds to the House's dynamics,” she asserted. The boys laughed at Bridge’s insight but baited her to play along with his advances. “Keep him thinking he has a chance,” Ben jeered. “No way,” rebuffed Brigitte. She tried to talk it down and told the boys she thought he was a “freak” and didn’t like his toe-tapping advances.
But the boys had their minds made up - Nobbi told anyone who would listen about Cherry’s views on women, and in particular, Brigitte. He tried to see what kind of man he was dealing with and pressed Cherry to tell the group his “number”, that is the number of women he had been with. But like a gentleman, Cherry refused. “That’s between me and them,” he swatted. But Nobbi protested saying his answer was weak. “I just reckon that’s personal … what’s the point?” Cherry argued. Nobbi tried to weasel an answer out of the GC surfer boy, but Cherry stayed tight lipped. Cherry didn’t appear worried in the slightest; he wasn’t buying into any of the games the boys threw out there and seemed unperturbed by their jesting.
Cherry had revealed his own game plan before entering the House in order to get into the girls’ good books. “I suppose I’m going to hang out with Travis a bit because he knows all the girls so he’s like the key to the lock,” he confessed. And that’s just what he did.
Travis and Cherry have become mates, they had a great time playing hand ball together and Cherry even taught Trav how to do a proper push up. The boys shot the breeze and chatted about girls. “I don't have a chick... chicks are trouble... just too much drama, you don't need ‘em on the Gold Coast,” Cherry told a very impressed Travis. “Why? Who do you go out with then? Your mates?” Trav asked, hanging off Cherry’s every word. Cherry explained that he had chicks as friends and they went out in groups. “That’s cool,” Travis remarked. So it seemed all his moves are working so far, but is Brigitte convinced?
Cherry told Alice and Renee he wasn’t going to give up on Bridge after noticing she’d been giving him the cold shoulder. “I'm going to keep sweating on her to get a conversation ... I reckon she’s just shy,” Cherry revealed. Alice and Renee didn’t think he’d have any luck, but later his persistence seemed to pay off.
Helping Brigitte out with the chore of washing up, Cherry made a breakthrough. He had a conversation with Brigitte, a real conversation, with words exchanged and even a few full sentences. Though it wasn’t much, getting to know you stuff - there was definitely some chemistry and Bridge even invited Cherry to join her knitting tutorials with Terri. After having some of the HMs cut her down, Brigitte seemed to like having Cherry on her side. She opened up to him about the Grenade and HMs not giving her stuff back. Cherry reasoned that the HMs were just jealous, and Brigitte may have even smiled!
So although Brigitte spouts to the boys ideals of dislike for Cherry, the two had a cute little bonding session and undoubtedly there will be more. Cherry seemed determined to win over the hearts of the ladies and is not worried about the blokey blokes and their little games.
