At last night’s Family Dinner, the question was asked: “There have been some big arguments recently. Do HMs think there is unresolved tension in the House? If so, should it be out in the open?”
The question seemed set to cause drama, but surprisingly, the HMs chose their words carefully and conflicts were calmed.
Most of them agreed the air between Renee and Bianca was not clear, but were hesitant to stand between the two forceful females.
Travis confessed, “Two HMs aren’t really talking.” But then added, “It’s not up to me to say it should be resolved… yes, there is tension.” Nobbi told the group that not many people actually spoke their minds and he urged them to do so. He and Terri raised the argument they had recently and Terri commended Nobbi for approaching her and resolving in the issue.
Bianca let out a forced laugh. “My whole life is unresolved tension,” she said. “Obviously this question is pretty much about me and Renee, I’m guessing … I don’t know why there has to be a topic about it and I don’t think it’s anyone’s business,” she began. “Hasn’t come up, don’t really want to speak about it, what’s done it done. I have nothing to say on that behalf and I know she probably doesn’t either or else she would have said it by now. So let sleeping dogs lie,” Bianca reeled. She seemed uncomfortable and defensive.
Renee was quick to clarify the question had been hers. “I did put it to BB, just for the head’s up,” Renee stated calmly, making Bianca aware that this was not another HM trying to the stir the pot, but Renee herself who wanted to address the issue. Renee said she’d wait her turn to comment.
Bianca gave her opinion on the situation. “So we’re both on a mutual understanding that nothing needs to be said, we can just grow up get over it, be mature about it, move on,” posed Bianca. “We both believe that where we stood in that argument was correct and we’re not going to give in, we’re not going to apologise.”
“I don’t hate you or fully dislike you, it was an argument, it got out of hand. Shit happens, move on,” Bianca reasoned, before the question was handed around the to the rest of the group.
“I think there’s obviously tension,” Rory agreed. “Two grown people can talk about it if they feel like it. If not, keep it going, whatever, doesn’t affect me.” Ben said he hoped the tension would be resolved by the end of the discussion. Finally, it was Renee’s turn to talk.
Similar to Bianca, Renee believed she wasn’t in the wrong. “I won’t apologise,” Renee said flatly. “Yeah ditto,” stammered Bianca. “It frustrated the absolute hell out of me that you thought we were attacking you … like, you should have known because we were close there would have been no way in hell that I would have attacked you,” Renee explained, in reference to Bianca feeling she was being criticised about her breasts.
Renee told Bianca that she brought it up the issue at the dinner table because even though the fight was between them, it involved the whole House. “Everyone's saying ‘it's between them’ and it's not because every HM have been saying stuff,” Renee informed Bianca. She’d hoped that more people would give their opinion at the dinner.
Renee expressed the effort she had taken to smooth things over. She explained she had tried to talk to Bianca during the day but Bianca had given her the cold shoulder and told her she just wanted to have a food fight. “It felt like you were having an underlying dig,” Renee confessed. Bianca acknowledged her effort but argued that she was getting the cold shoulder off Renee too. “I was actively avoiding you, but it's a two way street,” accused Bianca. Renee knew they were coming from two sides of the fence but conceded they were good friends prior to the argument and would be again. She said that on the outside world they would give each other distance and things would settle down, but in the House they didn’t have that luxury and just needed to let go of things quickly.
The tension in the air eased and the girls exchanged awkward smiles. HMs sighed in relief. Nobbi nodded effusively. Ben just held his head in his hands.
“I’m really glad Renee brought this out at the table to get it out of the way in a civil way,” commended Rory, who added the girls were both as stubborn as each other.
“So I can close the statement by saying we seriously had our wires crossed, we’re two hot-headed people, it got heated. However, I still have time for you,” Renee said, putting the fight to rest - for now at least. “See it for what it is, it was a misunderstanding,” she urged Bianca.
“Well done,” Terrence clapped the girls for their effort. “Well done Renee,” applauded Rory. “Actually, thank you for bringing it up,” Bianca admitted.
“Sorry guys, for everyone else involved,” Renee smiled, feeling lighter after getting the weight of the issue off her chest.
And that was that … until the next time!
