Can you put a price on beauty? Apparently, yes, you can! Eight Big Brother coins to be exact! For just a few pieces of shrapnel you can be transformed from drab to fab – in the Big Brother House at least anyway. But where some people saw the transformation a bargain, others saw a bodgey deal.
In the Vending Machine, a whole swag of sensational goodies were on offer. From juggling clubs to take-away dinners, Head of House Cherry was present with a top-drawer selection to choose from. Amidst the goodies there was a professional style, cut and colour for Brigitte and Alice’s hair.
With both Housemates’ hair starting to turn from blonde to brown – Brigitte and Alice have been going to desperate length to cover up their true colour. Their real roots have become a real problem.
“Hair for Brigitte and Alice?” Terri said. “We have to have that!”
Unfortunately for the ladies, Cherry wasn’t sympathetic to their cause. Deciding that a message from home for Terri (also worth 8 coins) was a more worthwhile purchase, “Terri’s got a family, that’s more important than hair,” the Sexy Surfer explained to a glowering Bridge that Terri deserved to see how her grandson is growing and developing without her.
Later, however, Cherry revealed less as a family-man and more as a ladies-man, admitting that should he choose the haircut it’d make him look like he’s been whipped and “in love with Brigitte”.
“Family over hair any day,” Rory echoed Cherry’s earlier sentiments.
“As soon as you get that message I’m going to shred it,” Brigitte threatened. “You will do no such thing!” Terri said, shocked. “I’m going to take it to the kitchen and burn it,” Brigitte fumed.
“This is the most controversial vending machine ever,” Travis stated the obvious. His contribution to the conversation went largely unnoticed as Brigitte threatened to sever her ‘House Mum’ relationship with Terri.
And when The Grandma finally blew up and said that she’d like a hair appointment too, Brigitte didn’t hold back. “Your hair looks exactly the same way as it did when it came in,” she declared. “Like poo.”
When Cherry returned from the Backyard Vending Machine with letter and tennis set in hand, Brigitte lost it – fluffing up Terri’s hair and screeching at the top of her lungs. Rory made Cherry realise that perhaps he wasn’t getting any cuddles tonight.
Big Brother called Brigitte and Alice to the Diary Room to settle the dispute and initiate a trade-off. “You can have your hair cut, colour and styled but it will come at a price.”
“Anything!” Brigitte beamed, “I’ll go naked and run around outside the House.”
“The price is the treadmill,” Big Brother told the temporary blondes.
Alice’s face dropped in shock. “Let’s work this out,” she said, turning to face Brigitte. “Just say we’ve got even ‘til Wednesday it’s not a lot of time to occupy it. Haircut, only occupies us for this afternoon.”
“Did you not say you would do anything?” Big Brother teased.
“But that’s just like I want to make sure I get fit next week,” Brigitte explained. “So I’m ready to go back to the gym.”
“Are you going back on your word?” Big Brother questioned.
“I didn’t think about the treadmill,” Brigitte said feebly.
“We’d do anything,” Alice smiled, conflicted. “But not lose everything.”
“Can you think of something really crazy for us to do?” Brigitte suggested.
“You could always run around the backyard just like people who don’t have treadmills?” Big Brother shot back.
“It’s too small,” Brigitte whined. “It hurt my legs because you’re always turning.”
“You could even set up a beep test Big Brother,” Alice threw the idea into the ring.
Big Brother was not up for negotiations, “This is the one and only opportunity to get your hair done.”
“Can’t take it away from Terri,” Alice wriggled uncomfortably. “She relies on half an hour a day.”
“No,” was the final decision from the pair.
“Is that your final answer?” Big Brother confirmed.
“Sorry, you’ll have to break your appointment BB,” Alice apologised. “But we do value the treadmill. The treadmill keeps us healthy, hair keeps us looking good.”
“That is all,” Big Brother dismissed the disappointed duo.
As the two critters scurried from the Diary Room it became very clear in the House’s bright lights that soon these two blonde mice would soon be brunette.
