The group knew what was coming after Brigitte’s farewell message. They were accustomed to the inevitable HM Hand Grenade and Rory put his money on Brigitte throwing the bomb his way. But what would it destroy?
“HMs - now it’s time for me to deliver my Hand Grenade,” the blonde grinned. “Remember how I reacted when I got my Hand Grenade and all my things were taken away? You must know how seriously I think Hand Grenade’s are supposed to be taken,” Brigitte declared. HMs nodded as their minds were taken back to Brigitte’s tears and tantrums after being hit by not only one, but two Grenades!
“I did it tough and the person I give my Hand Grenade to is going to do it even tougher. This person always teased me about being a rich little blonde bimbo,” Brigitte told the group. Rory had no doubt it was coming his way, “Yeah, come on,” he urged. Brigitte continued. “He on the other hand, was a boy from the wrong side of the tracks and always had a hard life ... Rory, then you’ll have no trouble coping with what I’m about to give to you.
“Rory. From now on you will live on the most basic food!” Brigitte’s Grenade was dropped and Rory was not longer permitted privileged provisions - it was boring basics for him.
“That’s alright honey,” Rory said as HMs all started to laugh, particularly entertained by Rory’s newfound situation. “BB will deliver to you your three daily meals,” Brigitte revealed. “They will be nutritious and plentiful, but they will also be dull and unappetising. Rory, you are not allowed to eat any other prepared meals. Good luck Rory, I’m on the outside now and why you’re eating like a pauper I’ll be eating like a Princess!” concluded Brigitte as she disappeared from the screen and the House forever.
Roy said he was cool with his Grenade and even though Ben tried to rub salt in his wounds, he insisted it was going to be fine. “I’m sweet. That’s going to be funny,” Rory admitted.
“Shall I get those two roast chickens out for tomorrow, shall I Ben?” Alice teased. But Rory pointed out that with Ben outside and Brigitte gone, now Travis was the only cook left to prepare all the meals for the House. “You guys are going to be doing worse than me … BB’s going to be preparing my meals at least, not Travis!” Rory smirked.
“I was actually surprised at how mature she was, even saying stuff to me,” commended Rory. “It’s true, like I don’t hate her or anything like that but in a place like this you’re going to get on each other’s nerves a little bit,” reasoned the Brickie. HMs agreed and were all impressed by how articulate Brigitte was in her message.
But Rory was singing a different tune in the morning and didn’t think the Grenade was so great when he woke up to cold porridge and fruit. Rory announced, “I don’t eat porridge.” But that was what he’d been given and he had to lump it. Defiant of BB and determined not let his situation get to him, Rory accepted his meal.
However, his lunch was a pleasant surprise. “It’s pretty good! It’s rice with steamed vegetables,” Rory told HMS. Alice was impressed and thought it was better than what they had eaten throughout their time in the House. “That’s better than what we’ll be eating,” admitted Travis as he began to try and prepare lunch for the rest of the House.
Maybe Rory’s grenade will turn out to be a blessing in disguise?
