Directly after Brigitte’s shock departure on Wednesday night, Cherry was obviously upset. He was quiet and contemplative thinking about ‘his chick’ leaving. He told the group Brigitte thought she was going and they’d talked about it last night. After listening to Brigitte’s message on the plasma, Cherry headed to the yard with Ben to talk about his cuddle buddy.
Cherry revealed that he just kept playing the situation over and over in his mind. “All I can think about is Brigitte going,” Cherry admitted. He smiled and said he couldn’t believe she said ‘Cherry, you finally got this’ in her farewell message, teasing him that he’d been chasing her for kisses for so long. The other HMs joined them and Cherry reflected on stealing kisses from Brigitte and joking with her about her hair.
Despite a few ‘tough’ words about how easy it is to get over girls, it was obvious that Cherry was missing Brigitte more than he wanted to let on. Later, in the privacy of the Diary Room, he opened up to BB about his relationship. He revealed he and Brigitte had become a great deal closer over the last few days and she meant a lot to him.
“You lost a close friend tonight,” BB said to Cherry. “Yeah… I don’t really know what to say…” Cherry trailed off. “It was unexpected I guess and the message on the screen was even harder. It just nailed it in that she was gone.” Cherry told Big Brother that he was devastated but just had to wait until he was out of the House to see her again.
BB asked Cherry about missing Brigitte. “If you asked me a week ago, I would say that I’d miss her and she was a great girl. But over the last couple of days, we got a lot closer and I’m probably going to miss her heaps now,” Cherry confessed, squirming in the Diary Room chair. “We were getting pretty close and cuddling heaps at night which was good, and heaps of feelings were flowing between us. She opened up about everything and it felt sort of good that she was actually being honest with me after all this time in the House … I’m going to miss her a fair bit,” he confided. Cherry said Brigitte was an ‘awesome chick’ but he just had to focus on the fact that it wasn’t going to be too long until their next meeting and in two weeks he’d see her again.
BB questioned Cherry, “Is Brigitte now more than just an ‘awesome chick’?” Cherry smiled as he replied. “Yeah, definitely. I’m not going to sit here and lie about it, she’s awesome. In my eyes… she is cute, she can handle a joke and she’ll throw one back at you.” Cherry admitted he had deliberately tested Brigitte’s patience when he didn’t buy her a salon visit in the vending machine and constantly paid her out about her dark roots, but instead of getting feisty about it, Brigitte had complained but ended up smiling – a quality Cherry liked in her. He added that even after he would have a dig at Brigitte about something, she’d still kiss him. Cherry finished by saying he appreciated the fact Brigitte didn’t hold grudges. “So I’d have to say she is more than awesome!” he replied.
Cherry told BB he actually had true feelings for Brigitte - but he’d just have to wait and see what happened when the two met up on the outside.
On her part, Brigitte last night admitted that while she too, had feelings for Cherry, the two live in different states. “We’ll just have to wait and see… I’ll see him at the finale!” she grinned.
