“Remember when you said I could … possibly negotiate with you about coming back inside?” Ben began this afternoon, tentatively raising the issue with BB. “Is there any chance we could make some sort of deal?”
“What did you have in mind?” BB replied. Ben suggested an ironing challenge. He then said he’d give his care package back and would do as much cleaning as required. “There’s not much I wouldn’t do BB,” Ben admitted. “Good to know,” BB deadpanned, adding that he would think about Ben’s proposal.
Later that afternoon, BB called Ben on the Kombi phone. “Welcome to the BB Kombi Van, this is Ben. How may I help you?” he answered. “Ben, you have spent more than 10 days confined to the Kombi Van,” BB begun. Ben smiled and agreed, hopeful BB had considered his offer and was about to negotiate. “Do you recall why this happened?” BB asked. Ben recalled his garlic shower incident, where he used more water than his allocation.
“I was put in the Kombi for a night but whilst I was out here I proceeded to refer to BB as a canine and say other disrespectful things, and then I was put in here for an indefinite period to think about what I had done.” Ben explained. “Ben, you were put there to help you with an attitude problem that BB perceived you had … Ben do you still have a problem with BB?” BB questioned. Ben said that he never really had a problem, but he just became annoyed with a few incidents.
“BB has decided that you have done your time. From now on, you are allowed back in the House,” BB announced. Ben was stoked and grinned from ear to ear. “Thanks heaps BB, I appreciate it,” Ben applauded, happy to not have to cope with any more cold nights in the Kombi.
BB instructed Ben to move his things and leave the Kombi clean and tidy… but BB had one more question the Head Boy had to answer before being let back into the House. “Tell BB what you now think of his rules?” BB queried. Ben laughed. “I respect them and I agree to abide by them at all times. And BB is probably my best mate in the world and I’d happily catch up with him for drinks after the series,” Ben laid it on thick and BB was happy with his response. “Ben, much better,” he commended. “Welcome back to the BB House!”
As Ben emerged from the Kombi, Rory and Travis were keen to hear what he’d talked to BB about and if he had negotiated a deal. “He told me to keep up my good behavior and I might get back inside soon,” Ben explained, lying about his real convo with BB. He then pretended he asked for sand and the boys were confused.
“Nah I’m joking boys! I’m back inside,” Ben said, clapping his hands with excitement. Travis screamed and hugged him. “Yay! Benny’s back inside!” Travis sung at the top of his lungs. “Thank goodness for that!” Terri called out. “Thanks BB,” Rory and Travis yelled.
And with that, Ben packed up the Kombi and returned to the House with a new respect for BB and life in the House!
