On the first night in the House, Rory told the group, "I just wanna say it’s a sweet experience to be here and who the hell wants to leave all this in the first night? The reasons for me staying in the House: I’m gonna bring a lot of joy, and controversy and stupidness. I think the House needs it."
Rory’s BB journey was one enveloped in love and lust. Rory admitted before going into the House that his weaknesses/loves were “boobies, beer, bricks and chicks.” It was made very clear that he had quite the affection for the latter and he was declared the ‘Resident Lothario’ of the House. Rory was a lover not a fighter.
With so many eligible ladies, Rory didn’t know which way to turn. He was torn between Alice and Renee. He also took a shine to Rebecca, but the Skimpy Waitress was having not a bar of his flirtatious advances. But as soon as Yummy Mummy Rhianna walked in, and cupid’s arrow pierced Rory’s heart. Renee was no more, her spot in the BB Big Bed was stolen by Rhianna… and Rory was smitten!
The Brickie’s sights were locked on the blonde beauty andshe fell victim to the romances of Rory. Their interludes had doonas dancing and the HMs talking. Things got hot and heavy between the sheets with Rory and Rhianna, and as every day passed they became closer and closer. However, only two weeks into their romance, Rhianna was ripped from Rory’s arms, she was Evicted from the House and Rory was back to cuddling his pillow.
Rory was also a hot favourite of Terri’s early on. She loved the Brickie’s family values and her crush on the young lad was no secret. But there was no going to Terri for solace after the departure of Rhianna. Family values aside, Rory was a bit too rough around the edges for Terri. Her taste for him soured once upstanding young surfer Cherry came on the scene and stole the Nanna’s affections.
So it was back to the boys for Rory. This tradie is a blokey bloke through and through, and loved to hang out with ‘the boys’. He was an avid member of the Spa Mafia, before it turned to the Kombi Krew and finally, the Evil Black Crows. A close mate of Nobbi and Ben, Rory’s crew of boys were tight and caused a great deal trouble - as well as entertainment - in the House.
Not one to shy away from shenanigans, Rory caused a bit of a stir with his practical jokes and sarcastic nature. He ruffled Brigitte’s feathers by trying to convince HMs not to give any of her stuff back. He teased Terrence with flour bombs and taunts of ‘playing the game’ and and he was always being cheeky to Terri.
The Brickie’s BB experience was set on fire after meeting the ultimate blonde bombshell, Pamela Anderson, and being the lucky Housemate to introduce Pam to the House! Rory’s face was the picture of elation as he took a seat on the Diary Room Chair next to Pammy, and then got to spend the two next days in her company!
Rory’s last weeks in the House weren’t all highs, with his world rocked during BB’s Big Sting. It was an experience which shook him to the core, and made him realise just how much he valued Travis’ friendship in particular. The unlikely pair found friendship as Rory taught Travis how to be a Brickie (even creating the first BB letterbox together!), and Travy reciprocated, teaching Rory about his life.
The dreadlocked Victorian’s time in the House was topped off by his first ever FNL win – in the Grand Final! It was an experience made all the sweeter by Rory’s prize – one minute with his younger brother Justin.
Nicknamed ‘Evicto’ after being up for Eviction three times in a row in the early stages of the game, Rory was thought to be unstoppable – and they were right! After Alice and Travis were Evicted on the eve of the Finale, Rory’s place in BB’s top trio was sealed.
All in all, Rory was true to his word, bringing “joy, controversy and stupidness”. He took the experience as it came and set out to have the best time possible - from his naked showers to his snuggle sessions, from his tree top crowing to his boy band dancing.
From clashes with Brigitte to bonding with Ben, Rory’s named his BB experience as one he’s very proud of, because he remained true to himself. A loyal friend and family man, 22-year-old Rory well and truly succeeded in his mission of staying in the House for his birthday – and left an undeniable, unforgettable impression on his HMs.
