Oh. My. God. Today’s House events were enough to set everyone into a spin and I for one loved it! The tears … the tension … the conflict … the Bianca! Seriously, she lost it like never before and indulged in swearing that would make Chopper blush! She also managed to throw an innocent clotheshorse about the Backyard and give some serious lip to Big Brother.
But B wasn’t the only to spit the dummy when she found out Rima had duped them all! Bianca’s crush Ben lost it and so did Rory (temporarily) while Terri pleaded with the trio to calm down, eventually reducing herself to tears.
Brigitte, on the other hand, sat back smugly and watched the unfolding drama while snacking down on a cracker. And she deserved to! Imagine having an entire House turn against you and being unfairly labeled a mole! Cracker on, Brigitte! Cracker on!
Interestingly, the HMs managed to get away without apologising for essentially not trusting her or believing her, with most of them simply saying they were within their rights to suspect her. Interesting move! Wonder how they would have reacted had the pink stiletto been on the other foot?
Obviously Brigitte was most crushed by Terri, Alice and Travis all labelling her the mole - as she considered the trio close friends. I couldn't help but wonder what Alice was trying to prove later on when she went outside with Brigitte and Cherry. Now, Cherry was the one person who didn't predict Bridgey as the mole, and Alice decided to confront him about it right in front of an already crushed Brigitte. She accused him of always wanting to predict Brigitte and not being honest. Cherry angrily defended himself and Brigitte lay there silently. Finally, she told them both they were dogs and I don't think anyone else would have felt much sympathy for either of them right at that moment.
In summary, Ben was just - somewhat disturbingly - obsessed with fear that people might think he was actually the mole. Bianca was worried about the long term effects this tragedy would have on her. Rory had gotten over it and realised it was all a game and they could perhaps reflect on how they had dealt with it. Terri was in the Kitchen busily baking. Cherry was calmly pragmatic. Alice was trying to crack a smile and Travis wondered why no one believed him when he thought it was all a farce.
I did have to stop and feel for Rima. She had known all along that she was leaving today and when she left the Lounge, it would have occurred to her that this was the last time she would see her fellow Housemates.
Rima left the House in turmoil and behind the Diary Room Door, she let BB know how upset she was.
“I feel awful,” Rima told Big Brother quietly. “Why do you feel awful?” Big Brother asked her. “Oh Travis just broke my heart,” her voice shook. “Just when he started crying. He is just so innocent and naïve in life that he really takes a lot of things on. And I just feel terrible that I did this to him – especially.”
I managed to squeeze in a quick moment with Rima once she left the House and in response to what was happening, she said somewhat sarcastically (and quite accurately in my opinion): “They all think they're friends.” Obviously Rima - in the short time that she was there - could see through the HMs' pseudo-connections.
Stay tuned for more updates! This is the most explosive event to hit the House this year and it will be very interesting to see if these broken friendships (which appear not to be too solid in the first place) can be repaired.
Til then!
