As soon as the doors as swung shut and the final Housemates had entered the yard, there was jaw-dropping and eye-popping a’plenty when the Housemates were told that come sunrise it would be time to go for one unlucky Housemate – before their Big Brother experience had even begun.
Just as the Housemates began to relax into some get-to-know-you banter, Big Brother decided it was time the new folk got to know their closest (and only) neighbour. Suffice to say, it was an icy introduction.
Forced to congregate in the backyard – the House was off-limits – it was immediately obvious Big Brother had something up his sleeve. Only moments after the arrival of the final two Housemates, David and Rebecca, it became very clear, very quickly, that in this year’s House, all bets are off.
After welcoming the Housemates, Big Brother wasted no time in establishing just how unpredictable – and always in control - he is.
“In the House, as in real life, there are things you cannot possibly control,” began Big Brother. “Surprises – good and bad. Your first surprise for Big Brother ’08 is a bad one.
“Every year Housemates spend many days speculating about who will be the first to go. This year Big Brother decided to resolve this issue earlier than usual. A lot earlier.
“Housemates you must decide whose Big Brother experience will be over before it has begun.”
The Housemates faces turned from smiles to shock, a collective shocked sigh passing through the brand spankin’ new group. But, Big Brother didn’t stop there.
“At sunrise tomorrow there will be an Eviction. One of you must go. You will decide amongst yourselves who that person will be.”
“I’m going to be sick,” Brigitte said, reeling from Big Brother’s annoucement.
“Housemates, take this decision very seriously,” reminded Big Brother. “It is not a twist. It is real. The House will remain closed until your deliver Big Brother his first evictee.”
Just when the new crew of Housemates went to take a breath and attempt to absorb the news, Big Brother dropped yet another bombshell.
“Housemates this is the first of several snap evictions. It will not be the last. Good luck and good night.”
Confused, panicked and still adjusting to their new surroundings, the Housemates reeled from Big Brother’s controversial housewarming present – and the realization their Big Brother experience could soon be over.
Which of their own will the Housemates choose to Evict? Whose Big Brother experience is about to become to a very abrupt end? Keep up to date with What's Happening to find out all the goss!
