Terri received an icy cold reception when she gatecrashed the Big Brother House last night. There were plenty of eye-pops and mouths agape but the Housemate who gave her the frostiest response was the subject of her personal mission from BB: Corey.
Assigned to take care of the Party Boy, Terri made it very clear who was going to be wearing-the-pants in the new relationship. Corey – at first nervous, then angry – was not coping well with his grandma guardian, telling new Housemates Michael and Nathan, “I’m not sleeping with Terri,” said Corey adamantly. “Even if it’s like head-to-toe. Nah!”
Called to the Diary Room, Big Brother dealt the House’s hottest new pair a devastating blow. “Houseguests, including yourselves, five individuals entered the Big Brother House tonight. You may have noticed Big Brother has provided four additional lockers. As there is a shortfall Terri and Corey you will share a locker.”
Corey, having only just seen the House, was confused. “What are the lockers for Big Brother?” he asked.
“To put all your stuff in,” Terri whispered to Corey.
“I’m not putting my stuff in,” Corey said, his back to Terri on the Diary Room chair.
“Corey,” Big Brother explained. “When you’re not using them, your personal possessions and clothing must be stowed in your locker at all times. Is that clear?”
“Yes.” Corey winced.
“You seem less than thrilled about this,” Big Brother said.
“Pretty much,” Corey replied.
“Why?” Big Brother asked.
“Because I’d like my own personal space and stuff like that. Everyone else has, why can’t I?” Corey complained. “I might be a Houseguest but I’d still like personal space, why can’t I keep my stuff in a bag?”
“In the Big Brother House personal space is a precious commodity,” Big Brother told him.
“All the other Housemates and stuff they’re in lockers?” Corey argued. “So I dunno why can’t I have my own locker?”
“Because Big Brother said so,” Big Brother retorted.
“Well all my stuff aren’t gonna fit in one locker,” Corey told Big Brother. Terri interjected, “Stop arguing. We’ll do it, we’ll sort it out. Stop arguing.”
Corey and Terri exchanged heated words with Terri telling Corey that they’ll “just have to make do.” But the ‘make-do’ approach wasn’t what Corey had in mind - he insisted on being given more space.
Terri suggested Corey pick out some clothes he wanted to wear for the next few days and leave the rest of his wardrobe packed.
Corey didn’t like the idea of only unpacking half his bag, “I’m putting everything I can in the locker. Like literally everything. So you can put your stuff somewhere else. I’m putting everything in, I’m not letting my other stuff go ‘cause I don’t know what I wanna wear.” Corey was adamant, “I might wanna wear that, I might not wanna wear that, that’s why I brought all my clothes.”
“If we’ve got to compromise and make a decision between the two of us we’ll have to sort out our clothes half-and-half,” Terri gave Corey a stern talking-to. “Life’s about compromise mate. You’ve gotta make do with what you’ve got.”
Corey proceeded to talk over Terri but eventually the two fell into an uneasy awkward silence that was then interrupted by Big Brother, “Houseguests, fit what you can into your locker. What you do with the rest is up to you Terri. Corey, Big Brother suggests you follow the guidance of your chaperone on this matter.”
As this odd couple left the Diary Room with their bags, Terri enlisted Corey’s help in moving bags. Corey’s interpretation of the word ‘move’ being more of a ‘throw’. “You didn’t have to throw it like that!” Terri reprimanded. “I didn’t mean to throw it!” Corey shot back.
Unpacking in the Locker Room, Terri tried to strike up a conversation with her new pal. “Corey can I just ask you a question?” Terri implored. “Nah,” Corey answered. Terri continued anyway, “Why did you agree to come in here if you weren’t going to abide by Big Brother’s rules?”
“I didn’t know I’d have to deal with you,” Corey groaned. “[Being my] Mum or whatever.”
Terri laughed. Corey didn’t. It was going to be a long night … unfortunately for Terri, Corey had a plan in the works!
