It was a massive night with lots of new faces to get familiar with, so the new kids on the block took to the stage to formally introduce themselves to their new Housemates.

Barney

“I’m 33 years old… I try to tell people I’m not though. I am from Perth.  I am the youngest of three children, I’m the only boy of the family. I’m the little shit of the family… I haven’t really grown up yet,” admitted Barney before Housemates interrupted, screaming who they think he looks like. “No, I’m not Bobby Brady,” Barney told them before continuing his introduction.

“I am an ex-national swimmer. I swam at a national level for about thirteen years.  I’m very competitive in many different things that I do. I work for an international shipping company.  I’ve done a lot of travelling around Australia and a fair bit overseas as well.  I do a bit of modelling here and there for a bit of fun.

“What else can I tell you about myself? I love a challenge and that’s a big reason why I’m here. I do love challenging myself and I couldn’t think of a better way to challenge myself than to come in here and do it all with you guys.  So I’m looking forward to it.”

Nathan

“I get called Nate a lot. Love variety in life, don’t like to be doing the same thing too often so have a few different jobs that I do on the outside - work at a physio, do a bit of youth work, do a bit of DJ’ing on the side, coach some basketball … Do some mascot work, supervise kids on bouncy castles…

“I’m 27, but I reckon age is just a number you can act however you like. I am heterosexual, so I don’t have a boyfriend and I don’t have a girlfriend either.”

“Favourite colour?  I kinda like blue but a bit of green…” Nathan pondered the important question but it Travis who guessed the answer.  “So kinda turquoise?” Travis posed as the Housemates erupted in laugher again.

“I love travelling, love new adventures so I’ve been around Australia a bit, been to 21 different countries. Love music, try to play it a bit but don’t really do that well.  Lived in Adelaide my whole life but been around a bit. I have a couple of siblings, an older sis and younger bro and that's about it for now. Thanks guys.”

Michael

“I’m 26. I’m from Aldinga, it’s in SA, but I live in Melbourne now. Um, what do I do.  I don’t really do much. Working a nine to five job isn’t really what I think is good. I kinda just do whatever. I just do everything I want to do rather than being bossed around.  I sung for a bunch of heavy bands and got to tour the world and that’s kinda it. I went day to day with band stuff and then gotten to be 26 and have got to see a bunch of stuff around the world for free.

“I’ve got a girlfriend. It’s been about 6 or 7 months. I was in a band so I was like on tour and stuff so when I didn’t have a girlfriend I made the most of it. So now that I’ve got a girlfriend I’m a pretty legit person which is a bit of change for me.”

“Favourite food?” Alice asked.

“Tomatoes - that’s about everything I eat. I try to eat pretty healthy and stuff. I don’t drink. I call myself straight edge. I’ve been straight edge for 11 years so, I don’t do drugs and I don’t drink and I don’t smoke.”
