Renee has made no secret that she holds a candle for Nathan, and although he doesn’t want any romance in the House, his actions speak otherwise as he’s wooed the BB women with gallant tales and prophetic promises.
A chivalrous ladies man through and through, Nathan counselled Alice about her past relationships. “I just am a big believer that girls should be treated like princesses,” declared Nathan. He said he couldn’t stand for men who didn’t respect their women. “Culturally in Australia … guys don’t treat girls heaps well,” he reported. “It’s often kind of encouraged and I just hate seeing girls being accepting of that.”
Nathan told Alice a girl should be the number one priority for her man - and nothing less, reassuring BB’s resident vet she deserved the world. Nathan even admitted to Alice he would love to date a girl like her, as she is so forgiving and understanding. However, the flirtation with Alice was short lived and Nathan returned to his primetime Cinderella, Renee. From cooking together to late night deep and meaningfuls – they’ve been inseparable.
This week the flirty twosome will be getting even closer - partnered up by BB for the romantic waltz, a dance where the two must move as one in a solid embrace. Renee cringed at the idea, not able to completely look in the eyes of her crush. Nathan took immense pleasure in the thought of the week ahead - he told Renee all she had to do was to follow his lead.
“Renee, I’m Prince Charming here, trust me,” Nathan grinned. His eyes alight, he turned up the charm, informing Renee jokingly how lucky she was to be dancing with a gentleman such as himself.
Sitting in the backyard, the two cozied up on a bench seat, the gallant knight in fine form. Nathan spouted sonnets to Renee about ballroom dancing being such an intimate act, recalling a friend who fell in love through a shared passion for dance. He returned to his princess analogy, whipping up a fairytale fantasy for Renee to play out during their dance.
No damsel in distress, Renee was not so easily convinced or happy to play the role of the Princess. She teases him and he taunts her back. Like a schoolyard drama where the kids mock the source of their affection to reveal their true feelings - this rivalry is nothing but cute.
Nathan eventually caved, reverting to his romantic royal daydream. “Renee I'm gonna treat you like a princess all week so you actually get into the zone of feeling like one,” he serenaded.
As they practiced their waltz hand in hand, Nathan spun Renee around, lifted her up and dipped her towards the ground all the while Renee giggling at the intimacy. Nathan was intent on reaching the heights of dance and fulfilling the set choreography and his own personal vision. “I want to fully nail that embrace and make it real,” Nathan cooed. He told Renee in this dance they need to have a connection – clearly not much of an issue here. “We need to get in the Disney movie zone here,” he directed.
“It’s like you’re lulling someone into a false sense of security,” he advised. “So it’s like you’re seducing them into being weak enough for you to jab a knife in their back.”
Did Nathan’s final words of advice to help Renee get into character speak of his intentions for the young Dubbo lass? Or was he merely playing out his role if Sir Waltz?
