Travis had been feeling the bad vibes all week from Bridge, but the blonde bombshell’s frustration finally spilled over as the twosome rehearsed their dance routine. Picking up on the probability Brigitte’s frustration was rooted over deeper issues than his lack of coordination, Travis asked Brigitte what was up.
“I’ve felt as a result of this week’s task, you were getting really, really frustrated with me, even in the House,” Travis confessed. “And I felt last week we were really good friends.”
Barely reacting to Travis’ inquisition, Brigitte replied the amount of time they’d spend together this week was taking its toll on her. “I think because last week I spent all my time with Bec, and I didn’t spend time with you,” she explained. “Now I’m spending all my time with you. So last week I only saw you like two times.”
Obviously hurt by Brigitte’s statement, Travis made clear it was a two way street. “There’s stuff that you do that frustrates me,” he announced to Brigitte, as she sat in the Kombi.
“Then tell me!” yelled Brigitte back.
Shrugging his shoulders, Travis replied he simply doesn’t let Brigitte’s annoying actions bother him.
Now at boiling point, Brigitte was cranky. “Well that’s because you’re not a normal person Travis!” she vented. “You’re just happy all the time and I’m not. If something frustrates me, I get frustrated and angry.”
“That’s understandable,” conceded an ever-patient Travis.
“That’s another thing!” continued Brigitte, now on a roll with her tirade. “I feel like everything you say is one of your little catchphrases. I’m sorry, but you really frustrate me.”
Dixie, who was sitting next to Brigitte in the Kombi, whistled under her breath. “Bridgey’s going off today!” she laughed.
Backed into a corner of confrontation he wasn’t interested in addressing, Travis continued to practice his disco dance solo, but soon gave up and sat with Nobbi and Terri to vent.
“I’m just getting really annoyed with Brigitte,” he complained. “She’s getting really frustrated with me and I’m not a good dancer, but last week and this week I stood by her and supported her.
“Now, there’s one thing to be frustrated and one thing to get cranky and change how you’re acting towards someone who has supported you through two to three weeks of…
Jumping all over this common ground, Terri interrupted Travis’ argument. “That’s exactly how I felt last night when she called me a witch,” Terri chimed in. “I’ve been so nice to her, through all her dramas. I thought, that’s it for me.”
Nobbi couldn’t contain his laughter at the news Brigitte had called Terri a witch, but quickly pulled it together. “Travis, do you remember when I had that talk with you about being so unrealistic sometimes people are going to take advantage of you?” he reminded. “Standing ‘by her’ all the time and not calling her a sooky la la when obviously she was…”
“And now look what she’s done to you,” pointed out Terri.
“This is what happens when you’re always possimistic,” finished Nobbi.
Travis tried to argue back, but his weak voice betrayed his conviction. “It’s not being possimistic…” he trailed off.
“It’s being realistic,” replied Nobbi firmly. “And that’s what’s going to keep happening.”
“I just didn’t think she would turn but I felt really close to her,” confessed Travis. “I did support her and I did really believe in what I was saying. Remember how she was treating Benny? I’m not going to put up with that.”
Impressed with Travis’ new tough stance, Terri smiled. “We’re seeing another side to Travy!” she cheered.
Fuelled by Terri and Nobbi’s advice, Travis continued to explain his new relationship with Brigitte. “I’m still being possimistic, I’m just not going to take it,” he said simply. “I only get annoyed by Brigitte because I’ve stood by her.”
Joining Ben in the kitchen, Travis relayed to him the whole sordid saga. “I didn’t say, ‘when you were going through a hard time when Bec left, you did some stuff I didn’t agree with but I still supported you’,” he argued.
Still obviously shaken by Brigitte’s criticism, Travis continued to get his feelings off his chest. “And she thinks she can turn around and bag me out all week?” he ranted. “I’m a pretty tolerant guy and I’ll take stuff if I think she’s upset, but I’m not going to take random crap because she wants to be a douche bag.
“She said she thinks everyone hates her and I’ve been there for her.”
Ben asked Travis about Brigitte’s catchphrase comment, which he had overheard. “Seriously, this is coming from a girl who throws shoes at the plasmas,” replied Travis with disdain, before mentioning it was a shame all of this had to come to a head before they were to perform their dance this afternoon. “She hasn’t been the most enthusiastic dance partner,” he confirmed.
“I’ve gotten over it and forgiven her,” Travis told Ben. “But if someone was to bag her out again, I wouldn’t stick up for her.”
The Sparkle Club is officially shattered! How will Brigitte cope without Travis’ support?
