After escaping potential Eviction last Sunday and then finding herself on the Nomination list once again, Alice was feeling down and out about her plummeting popularity both in and out of the BB House.
But it was being Nominated by her own Housemates, which hit this vet right where it hurts. “Alice is stressing,” commented Rory to Nobbi, as the pair waited out the rain by the spa. “I saw her cleaning the bench, she was scrubbing the bench. Like frustration, taking it out on the bench.” Nobbi agreed. “She did not expect it at all,” he nodded.
By the spa, a despondent Alice ‘fessed her feelings of rejection and confusion to Rory and Nobbi. “I’m not stressing but it’s a hard feeling to have,” she admitted. “It’s cool, it’s such a cool feeling in one sense because it’s a game but it’s not like it might change some weeks because you might have a blue with someone… I don’t feel I’ve changed at all.
“OK, there was the blue last night [with Bianca] but it was one person. Like what Brigitte said before, 'I’m just going to be up now every week before I go' and Renee was like, 'Well, you might have a different best friend next week'. I don’t feel I’ve been like Brigitte where I’ve had changing weeks.”
Listening carefully, the boys advised for Alice to just get on with her BB experience, and not stress over her Nomination too much. But Alice wasn’t finished venting, obviously bewildered about why she’d been Nominated, yet others hadn’t. “I’m surprised there can be a lot of bitching and antagonizing towards people, but then they obviously don’t get voted,” she pointed out wryly.
Alice headed to the Diary Room to continue her heart to heart with BB – and admitted she wanted to shrug off the ‘mother goose’ tag forever - and felt her responsibility as head trainer to Ollie was segregating her from the rest of her HMs.
“I kind of feel like it’s me and the dog and everyone else,” said a teary Alice. “Everyone goes 'Ollie and his Mum' but I wouldn’t mind just being a Housemate again.
“It’s like a segregated responsibility and I love responsibility, but I feel like I’m this ‘Mum-Head of House’ thing still. I just want to be on a level field with everyone.”
Alice revealed she always knew the day she was Nominated by her Housemates would be a dark one, but it was being magnified by her feelings of being left out by the rest of the House, and despite not feeling like an “outcast”.
“To feel like you’re a do-er but you’re up for Nomination is weird,” she vented. “If you feel like you’re involved and participating... Especially when you feel you’ve put in, you haven’t slept weeks away.”
Alice declared she was sick of being tagged as the ‘responsible one’ and wanted to get back to her real, “jokester” self. “I’m sick of hearing responsibility comments, Head of House, or Mum… I’m just 25,” she said sadly. “I feel like an oldie and I don’t want to. It’s a pretty simple, young environment.”
Alice later confided in close mate Renee and sounding board Travis about why she was feeling so “flat”.
“I’m sick of trying to win people’s non bitchiness,” she complained.
Ever the possimist, Travis pointed out Alice’s enviable qualities. “Everyone has so much respect for you,” he said kindly. “People listen to you.”
Renee cut to the chase – the “reality” of Alice’s situation. “I’m going to make this realer,” Renee began. “I can half see where she’s coming from because she does get called Mum and everyone does give her credit and respect but she’s up for Noms.”
Alice agreed, and replied she felt she spent so much time looking after the Housemates by cleaning, cooking and keeping the House in order, she ran out of time to actually interact with her HMs – and she was afraid her BB experience would go to the dogs – literally. “The play time for me and Ollie isn’t there,” Alice revealed. “Because I have so many other chores to do that if I choose to have play time I have a 24 hour day where I’m not interacting with Housemates, I’m playing with a dog.”
