After finally completing their letterbox project, Rory and Travis were pretty pleased with themselves. Rory was especially proud of his brickie protégé Travis who – up until a week ago – didn’t know his butter from his barrow.
Capping off their creation with an autograph (all artists have to sign their work, right?), the handy couple were called to the Diary Room and reprimanded by their foreman, Big Brother.
“Housemates as you know in the BB house, writing is not permitted,” Big Brother disciplined the duo, “so when leaving the Diary Room, you will have to dismantle the letterbox due to the fact that you wrote on it.”
Travis and Rory’s eyes widened in the shock of the blow, “Don’t do that,” sighed Rory in disbelief.
There was a moment’s silence before Big Brother gingerly added, “Big Brother is joking. Thank you Housemates that is all.”
It took the pair a while for the news that BB had been joking to sink in! But – little did they know – such a fan was the big man that he even posted some mail care of their new Backyard creation.
Head Boy Ben was the first to discover the letter and Travis, well, Travis was pumped! “Terri! There’s a letter in the letterbox,” Travis screamed across the compound.
As Ben went to open the envelope, Rory pulled Brickie rank, “Wait for Terri. Don’t open it.”
Ben obeyed and as the Housemates congregated around the letterbox, Ben read the letter aloud, “Eviction Notice. Pursue unto the provisions of Big Brother 2008, Housemates are hearby given notice to vacate the premises owned by Big Brother and currently occupied by you.”
Travis looked startled. Terri looked confused. Alice looked puzzled. Rory remained calm. Was there about to be another Snap Eviction? Was the winner to be announced now? What was going on?
Ben kept reading, “The property must be vacated within two days.”
They all broke into laughter. Ben summing up what everyone was thinking, “Funny man. Funny, funny.”
Housemates received mail from home this week in the form of large, love-wrapped, care packages.
