Not really. I guess ‘cause they don’t really know the real me so they just judge what they seen on the interview.
Why do you want to go into the BB House?
I dunno, I thought it’d be a good opportunity, a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity definitely and it might be a bit of fun so why not?
Are you looking forward to the public getting to know you?
Yes that’s one of the reasons I said straightaway yes to go in. Because then I can change people’s opinion of me to hopefully ‘good’. And so people can see what I’m really like in everyday life… Just the same as everyone else really. Just sometimes good, sometimes bad, whatever.
How has your life changed in the last year?
Um, last year? A fair bit. It’s changed with a lot of stuff, like all this kind of stuff.
Why all the attention?
It might’ve been because I’ve had a fair bit of attitude maybe on the [interview], and maybe because I wouldn’t take off the sunnies.
What’s been the hardest thing to deal with?
People just in the streets yelling. People just jealous over it and stuff like that. People tryin’ to start fights and stuff like that. Yeah people like look at me and like, ‘Is that him? Or is that not him?’ They’re not a hundred percent sure. There’s generally a few people who will yell out stuff if they actually do recognise me and that’s about it. They’ve all got their own opinions I guess. They can say what they want about me. There’s no point in them getting me down.
Where did you get your sunnies?
I went to the beach in Frankston – this was probably about a year ago – and it was hot-as. It was about 40 degrees and I was like ‘I need a pair of sunnies’. And as a joke, me and my mate got a pair of sunnies, my favourite colour was yellow and he got a pink pair.
They won’t last forever Corey…
Well I got another [black] pair and so we’re painting them because you can’t buy these in yellow anymore.
