A Blow-By-Blow Guide to Nominations Night 4

Monday, September 10, 2012
We've lost two girls and a guy... but who will go up tonight and what will Benjamin's Nomination Superpower be? Keep refreshing this page for all the action as Nominations Night unfolds!

The HMs are delighted to see “Kruges” (as they dub her). Zoe tells Sonia, “It’s not much fun,” without Sarah in the House. “Her leaving put me in extreme shock.”

Sonia asks the HMs if anyone has the guts to not hide their mouths with their hands when they cast their votes this week. A few people raise their hands as they all admit they’re not trying to lip read anyway!

Big Brother announces this week the Superpower has changed but is very powerful. We then see Sarah on the screen, who bestows the Superpower on Benjamin. He is absolutely delighted and is told to remain in the Lounge as the rest of the HMs head to the Nominations Room.

BB tells Benjamin he now has double the power of his HMs. He is allowed to Nominate twice – he has 10 points and can Nominate four different Housemates. Benjamin takes it in with an open mouth as BB tells him, “Benjamin, your Nominations could have a huge impact on who is up for Eviction.”

It’s time to get Nominating!

MICHAEL
“He is an excellent person and a good judge of character,” Michael says of Benjamin having the Superpower before he nominates Estelle for two points. “Her constant childish outbursts … seem to detract from anything [important].” Next, Michael nominates Ray for three points. “Love the dude but again, it all comes down to what I am getting out of the House.” Michael explains that working out and being focused on diet isn’t enough of a contribution from Ray. “I just don’t find him super interesting.”

STACEY
“He is playing the game massively,” Stacey begins as she nominates Ray for three points. “He says funny things but he still holds a lot of arrogance in his actions.” Stacey adds that she thinks Ray is using Bradley as “an asset – turning him into a mean person.” Next, Stacey nominates Angie for two points, revealing it was a hard decision. She explains that Angie wouldn’t play along with the House 2 challenge and “was quite bratty.” Stacey added, “Sometimes I find her quite moody and I don’t know how to read her."

GEORGE
“First one will be Angie for three votes,” George starts. He says her laziness is the reason why before saying he "can’t be bothered" to talk to her about it. BB says he "can’t be bothered" to accept George’s nomination unless he comes up with a valid reason. George finally explains how Angie’s laziness is affecting his time in the House and BB accepts his vote. Bradley gets the next two points from George, who describes him as annoying. George finishes by saying Bradley gives “smart” answers to him.

LAYLA
“For four points, I want to nominate Estelle,” Layla says. “There’s still a massive wall that I can’t break down when [trying to] form a relationship with her,” she continues. Layla says that since Ryan has left the House, Estelle has been pushing Angie out of situations and Layla founds it tough to see her friend upset. “My one point I want to give to Bradley,” Layla says, adding that he said some nasty and sarcastic comments when Sarah left the House.

JOSH
Josh nominates Ray for three points, saying he is very competitive. “I’m a very laidback person and I feel very confronted with Ray’s competitive behaviour,” he explains. “He turns pretty much everything he goes about into a competition.” For two points, Josh nominates Bradley. “I find myself having to prompt Brad a lot, especially when it comes to Kitchen duties,” Josh says, adding that he has been in the House long enough to not have to be continually pushed to help out around the House.

RAY
“I’m gonna give four points to Angie,” Ray says, explaining that she has been hogging the chocolate and is now “eyeing off the protein”, which upsets him. Ray then nominates Benjamin for one point, saying that he always catches him whispering to others but he never whispers to him. Therefore, Ray has deduced that Benjamin is talking about him, but not wanting to be too mean in case Benjamin is organising a surprise party for him, Ray hedges his bets and just throws him one point.

The current Nominations tallyboard has Angie, Ray and Estelle in the Danger Zone!

ZOE
Zoe clears her throat as she nominates Estelle for three points. “She’s still a pain, she still doesn’t listen to anyone else, she just wants her opinion. … Sometimes I think she talks just to hear herself speak,” Zoe says. Zoe then nominates Ray for ‘playing the game’. “I believe he is targeting certain people to get close to, to stay in this game. … I find the aggressive side of him is his true side.” Zoe finishes by saying she doesn’t feel Ray is being himself.

BRADLEY
“For three points I nominate Ben,” Bradley says. He explains that Benjamin was “too assertive and powerful” when acting as Head of House. “It caused me to feel uncomfortable at times,” he says. Bradley then nominates Stacey for two points. “If a conversation turns to a serious topic, she will shut down and avoid the conversation to not get tangled up in a topic which could cause a debate to be formed and could portray her in a bad light.”

BENJAMIN
Benjamin heads to the Diary Room to deliver his vote. Of course, as the holder of the Superpower, he can nominate twice. For his first set of Nominations, Benjamin gives Estelle four points. “I find her behaviour in the House can be quite reckless,” he says. He explains that Estelle doesn’t take feedback or advice on board and her reaction to it can then affect people in the House. “I nominate Ray for one point,” Benjamin continues. He describes his behaviour in certain situations as “aggressive.” Benjamin then uses the Dance Off as an example of Ray’s “over excited” behaviour and says he has since tried to avoid Ray.

Benjamin then gets to Nominate all over again. With a focused look on his face, he begins. “I nominate Bradley for four points,” Benjamin says without hesitation. He explains Bradley treats him differently to the other Housemates and continues by saying Bradley makes poor comments at times about the girls. “My last point goes to Angie,” Benjamin says. He gives her the point because Angie had referred to Estelle as “taking her place” with certain people. “With that kind of behaviour she could be blocking other Housemates from reaching their potential and their best,” he says, adding that he sees the House as an open playing field for everyone and he isn’t interested in a “popular group” forming.

Sonia flashes on the screen and asks Benjamin about his Superpower. Benjamin admits that he found it stressful and adds that ironically, it was Sarah that taught him to be positive towards all the Housemates and this Superpower meant that he was being anything but. But Benjamin concedes that he was able to split his power to represent himself and “someone who may have left last night.”

ANGIE
“For three points I would like to nominate Estelle,” Angie says, adding that she believes Estelle is ‘playing the game’ and was a lot nicer on Nominations Day than she had been during the week. “People don’t change overnight.” Angie finishes by saying she would be happier in a House without Estelle. “For two points, I nominate Ray,” Angie continues. “In my eyes I thought he was really into Zoe,” Angie explains, then reveals that she has since learned Ray is only nice to Zoe in group situations which makes her question his motivations.

ESTELLE
“For two points I nominate Zoe,” Estelle says, explaining that, “If she can be cruel to animals, she is capable of being [mean to people behind their backs.]” Estelle gives her three points to Stacey. “She’s hilarious but jokes should not be at the expense of other people and she’s done that a number of times.” Estelle says that jokes Stacey has made about Bradley and Ray have been “too much” for her. “I care for them,” she concludes.

Estelle, Ray and Angie are officially up for Eviction! Both Ray and Estelle have been nominated before but it’s Angie’s first time.

Big Brother then reveals Benjamin’s Superpower. The HMs gasp as they realise the extent of the power. “Do not ask him any questions about his nominations, he is forbidden to discuss it,” BB finishes.

Big Brother continues. “The HMs up for eviction are… on 16 points, Estelle.” She raises an arm and says defiantly, “I would rather stand for something than nothing!”

“On 14 points, Ray,” BB continues. He grins and hi-fives Estelle.

“On 10 points, Angie.” BB concludes. Angie breaks into a smile as Layla appears shocked.

While the HMs are reeling inside the House, on stage, Sonia meets our Intruder – Ava. How will they react to her? Stay tuned to find out!
